Federico is an expert in socio-economic and market analysis, and currently works for Smart Land, an Italian real estate and development consultancy. His past experience includes several years with CRESME, the research and forecasting body for Italy’s construction industry.

In addition to his work as an analyst of the built environment, he has been a a project manager for urban regeneration programmes in Venice, Vicenza, Aversa, Prijedor (Bosnia), Onesti (Romania), and Chisinau (Moldova). 

He combines research with essay writing and popular science articles and is the author of numerous publications in the fields of economics and regional development.

He has a PhD in mountain and environmental economics and from 2001 to 2018 was an adjunct professor of business economics and project management at the IUAV University of Venice. He also taught on the Masters course for public administration at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice from 2014 to 2015.
